World Missions

"Extending Christ's invitation to become and to live as His disciples" is a key to our mission statement. One way we do this is by establishing partnerships with missionaries and ministries who have connections with the First Church family. We support missionaries from our church and/or from the Pacific Northwest Conference.

First Church missionaries include:

• Jim and Phyllis Sortor - Nigeria
• Jon and Karin Schoenhals - Bolivia
• Suzanne Emery - Costa Rica
• David and Donna Jacobsson - Uganda

Other missionaries from the Pacific Northwest Conference include:

• Marvin and Lisa Klein - Europe
• Kevin and Natelle Austin - Thailand
• Marcie Huson - Hungary

We assist in funding projects with which people from our church are connected. In addition to our regular missions support, we promote a few major projects per year, in which we make significant grants to partner with ministries around the world. We also assist FFMC attenders in short-term mission trips.

A few weeks ago we told you about a special need in Orissa State , India . Several Free Methodist pastors and their families lost their homes and were living in tents due to an attack by Hindu extremists. The gifts from our congregation were enough to rebuild a home for a pastor and provide 3 months of financial support. Thank you!
