DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRIES

I am glad to report to you that Stephanie Chatfield has agreed to serve this next year as our Director of Youth Ministries.

Stephanie is a 2007 graduate of SPU with a degree in Educational Ministries. While at SPU, she worked with SPRINT (the SPU short-term missions ministry) and was a Children and Family Ministries Intern at University Presbyterian. This past year, Steph anie has been the Youth Ministry Intern at FFMC.

Chris Abbey, who has served FFMC well both as intern for the '06-'07 year and as Director of Youth Ministries for this past year, will be moving to Wenatchee in early July, when Stephanie's responsibilities will officially begin.

The decision to ask Stephanie to serve in this role was after an extensive search, which involved reviewing at least 15 resumes and one other serious interview.

The Youth Director Search Team working with me was made up of members of the Youth Ministries Task Force and the Personnel Committee of the LBA (church board).

Stephanie is young, enthusiastic, and eager to grow and learn. She knows us and our youth know her and respond well to her. She will be mentored within our staff by Jan Pendergrass, Pastor for Children and Families, and by Mandy Neill, who served for two years as Director of Youth Ministries.

I invite you to pray for Stephanie as she faces this new chapter and for Chris as he and Chrissy transition to a new phase of life and ministry.
