What is Kaleo?
Kaleo is the college/young adult group at First Free Methodist Church (FFMC). We use our summers to meet new people and do something different. We encourage you to bring a friend or two (or more) to these events for great times with great people.

REA: Sundays at 9:30am on the 4th floor we have a group that meets to discuss spiritual topics. We then go to the 11am worship service called Encounter. We’ll take August off. All are welcome.
July 13, August 17 & September 14: BBQ FFMC at 7pm.
We’ll cook up some burgers, hot dogs, chicken, or whatever else you fancy. Everyone will bring something to contribute to the BBQ. We’ll play some games and eat some s’mores.
June 29 & July 20: *Hikes
We’ll meet at the church at 7pm and carpool to the parks for a leisurely “hike.” For hikers, this will be a walk. For walkers, this will be...well, a walk. The point is we’ll all be having fun together. We’ll plan to go to Golden Gardens on June 29 and Discover Park on July 20.
July 6: all church night at the Mariner’s game
We’ll meet at the church at 5:45pm and carpool over to Safeco Field to watch the M’s take on the Kansas City Royals. Please email Jason to pre-purchase your tickets at jason@ffmc.org. The cost is $11.
July 27: Urban Impact lunch making & movie
Urban Impact, a ministry to the inner city in Seattle, will be having a kids camp on this week, and we will be helping pack lunches for them. Meet at the church at 7pm. Because this will only take a little bit of time, we will then head off to catch a movie. The cost should be around $10-$15 for the movie tickets.
August 3: Game Night
Head up to the 4th floor for a night of games and excitement. We’ll have refreshments and fun for all!
August 10: *Bike ride around Lake Union & Cold Stone
Get your bike dusted off and a stick of juicy fruit, ‘cause we riding the 6+ miles around Lake Union. We’ll meet at FFMC at 7pm, ride and we’ll end up at Cold Stone Creamery in Freemont for a well-deserved treat. If riding isn’t your thing, you can walk there with a few others and meet us in time. $5-10 should cover it.
August 24: Movie Night
We’ll continue our quarterly movie night. There will be refreshments, we’ll watch a movie and have a lively discus- sion about what we just experienced.
August 31 & September 7: Union Gospel Mission dinner service
We’ll meet at FFMC at 3:30pm, carpool downtown to UGM’s Men’s Shelter. I know it’s early, but this is an amazing experience to be a blessing to those in need. We’ll be serving 2 nights, so if you must miss one, you can make the other. Bring a few dollars to grab a bite to eat afterward.
July 1, August 5 & September 2: Museum walks
Get artsy-fartsy with FFMC! One of the great many things about living in Seattle is that the museums are free the first Thursday evening of every month. We’ll meet at FFMC at 5pm to enjoy this benefit. July 1 is the Seattle Art Museum, August 5 is the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum and September 2 we’ll head to the Museum of Flight.
